Affiliate disclosure

1. Some links are affiliate links

Certain articles contain affiliate links. If you click one and then buy or subscribe, we may receive a commission from the vendor, at no additional cost to you. The price you pay is the same as it would be if you went to the vendor directly.

2. Disclosure appears in the article itself

Any article that contains affiliate links carries a disclosure inside that article, placed before the first affiliate link and visible without expanding or clicking anything. This page alone is not treated as sufficient notice.

3. Commissions do not affect testing or scoring

• Tools are scored against the criteria published in each article. A commission is not one of the criteria and is never used as a tiebreaker.
• Tools that run no affiliate or partner program are tested, scored, and ranked on exactly the same basis as tools that do. They are not omitted from a comparison for that reason.
• Free and open-source tools are included wherever they are a real answer to the task in the article, even though they generate no revenue for this site.
• A poor result is published as a poor result, including for tools whose links earn a commission.

4. No paid placement

Position in a ranking, inclusion in a comparison, and the wording of a conclusion are not for sale. We do not accept payment in exchange for a review, a rating, a link, or a mention. We do not publish vendor-supplied text as editorial content.

5. Review units and trial accounts

Where a vendor provides a free licence, a trial extension, or credits so that a tool can be tested, the article says so. Accepting access for testing carries no agreement about what the article will conclude, and vendors do not see articles before publication.

6. Sponsored content

If sponsored content is ever published, it will be labelled as sponsored in the article heading and excluded from comparisons and rankings.
